Investimento chinês na África cresce

Pequim, 16 de Janeiro de 2008 – O Fundo de Desenvolvimento China-África (Cadf, na sigla em inglês), uma instituição patrocinada pelo governo para ajudar as empresas chinesas a investirem na África, lançou ontem seu primeiro plano de investimento, que prevê US$ 90 milhões para quatro projetos no continente. Ao todo, o fundo tem capital inicial de US$ 1 bilhão, que pode chegar a US$ 5 bilhões.
Financiado pelo Banco de Desenvolvimento da China, foi apresentado em junho, cumprindo a promessa feita pelo presidente da China, Hu Jintao, em novembro de 2006, na reunião de cúpula com países africanos em Pequim. Os quatro projetos são nos setores de energia, materiais de construção e mineração, disse um porta-voz do fundo, sem dar mais detalhes. Em um dele, o fundo vai trabalhar com a Shenzhen Energy para financiar a construção de uma central elétrica em;Gana. Pequim;diz que o fundo irá para os setores importantes para o desenvolvimento e o bem-estar da população africana: infra-estrutura, agricultura e produção.
