Alcoa é novamente líder mundial em ética

A Alcoa foi novamente classificada em primeiro lugar como a empresa mais ética do mundo no setor de mineração e metalurgia pelo Covalence Ethical Ranking, instituto com sede em Genebra que avalia a reputação de companhias multinacionais. O resultado, que corresponde a 2007, consolida o crescimento contínuo da Alcoa como líder mundial no setor em que atua, pela medição realizada desde 2002.O relatório da Covalence oferece uma análise detalhada das questões e desafios éticos de 20 companhias dos dez maiores setores da economia. O resultado da análise a respeito das empresas em cada segmento é avaliado de acordo com as seguintes categorias: a mais ética, a de maior progresso ético e o melhor relatório de desempenho.Em 2007 a Alcoa também foi reconhecida como uma das 10 multinacionais líderes pelo Covalence. A Companhia foi selecionada na categoria A Mais Ética, saltando do oitavo lugar, em 2006, para a quinta colocação. O Covalence utiliza sua metodologia de cotação ética, que avalia milhares de publicações da imprensa e documentos de ONGs, do setor acadêmico e de outras fontes, para chegar aos resultados. A instituição acompanha de perto 10 setores, incluindo 200 empresas classificadas como as mais capitalizadas do mercado no Índice Mundial Dow Jones.Covalence ? A organização não-governamental (ONG) avalia a reputação ética de empresas multinacionais, instituições financeiras, organizações públicas, entre outras. A base de análise é formada por 45 critérios, incluindo padrões trabalhistas e de conduta, responsabilidade social e política de direitos humanos. As avaliações são feitas por meio de milhares de documentos da imprensa, ONGs, fontes acadêmicas, entre outras, utilizando-se do sistema EthicalQuote.
