O empreendimento demandará US$ 973 milhões, dos quais US$ 341 milhões serão aplicados no próximo exercício. A área de níquel receberá US$ 1,019 bilhão e outros US$ 3,618 bilhões serão aplicados no segmento de não-ferrosos. A área de ferrosos receberá US$ 3,251 bilhões em 2008. A logística da Vale terá US$ 1,870 bilhão, dos quais US$ 1,152 bilhão para a sustentação da expansão da capacidade de produção do minério de ferro e US$ 755 milhões para o alumínio. A parte de energia elétrica ficará com US$ 470 milhões e outros US$ 390 milhões serão investidos no segmento de carvão mineral. Os principais projetos em termos financeiros para 2008 são Carajás (US$ 1,165 bilhão), Goro (US$ 723 milhões) e Onça Puma (US$ 581 milhões). (FD)
