Ministro recebe IBRAM e debate política industrial

Em audiência para tratar de assuntos relacionados à mineração e à Política Industrial Brasileira, o presidente do IBRAM, Paulo Camillo Penna, entregou convite ao Ministro do Desenvolvimento, Indústria e Comércio Exterior, Miguel Jorge, para participar da abertura da EXPOSIBRAM 2007 e do 12º Congresso Brasileiro de Mineração, no final de setembro, em Belo Horizonte (MG).Na reunião, foram discutidas as alternativaspara uma eficaz política industrial que contemple não apenas o setor da mineração, mas todos os segmentos da indústria. A nova política que está sendo formulada é resultado de análises entre o ministério e o Instituto.

Os presentes celebraram os números referentes à economia mundial, de acordo com o Fundo Monetário Internacional. Em 2006, por exemplo, completando quatro anos de resultados positivos, atingiu-se a marca de 5,4% de crescimento. O Brasil tem se beneficiado do cenário favorável. Só a participação da mineração, metalurgia e não-metálicos no PIB representou 4,98% em 2006.?Para 2007, estima-se uma evolução desta participação para 6%, não incluindo petróleo e gás. Mais de um terço da balança comercial brasileira é resultado das operações do comércio exterior envolvendo a mineração. Estamos em um momento de crescimento similar ao dos anos 70. O aumento da demanda, internacional e nacional, das commodities minerais é muito grande, principalmente na área da construção civil?, afirmou Paulo Camillo.Estiveram também presentes à reunião (foto), o Diretor de Assuntos Minerários do IBRAM, Marcelo Ribeiro Tunes (à dir.), e o Secretário do Desenvolvimento de Produção do Ministério do Desenvolvimento Indústria e Comércio Exterior, Nilton Sacenco (mais ao fundo).
