MPE investiga mina de Pau Branco

O inquérito civil instaurado pelo Ministério Público Estadual (MPE) que investiga o impacto ambiental das operações da Vallourec & Mannesman Mineração (V&M Mineração) na mina de Pau Branco, localizada em Brumadinho, na Região Metropolitana de Belo Horizonte (RMBH), está em fase final de instrução e em breve estará disponível para apreciação da promotora de Justiça Marselha Guedes, da 2ª promotoria de MPE no município. A V&M Mineração pertence ao grupo V&M do Brasil, fabricante de tubos de aço sem costura. Após analisar o relatório final do inquérito civil, que compreende os laudos dos peritos do MPE, assim como de outros órgãos ambientais, e se constatada alguma irregularidade, a promotora poderá convocar a empresa para assinar um termo de ajustamento de conduta ou ajuizar uma ação civil pública, conforme informou o servidor do MPE, Lennon Giovanni Gonçalves. Em nota, a V&M Mineração, integrante do grupo V&M do Brasil, informou que não recebeu notificações de órgãos ambientais, referentes às atividades na mina de Pau Branco. A empresa informou que possui compromisso com a sustentabilidade socioambiental e que possui certificações ISO 14.001 e OHSAS 18.001.
