Vale dá ao Brasil o título de 12º maior investidor mundial

O Brasil encerrou o ano de 2006 como 12º maior investidor no mundo, superando tradicionais investidores, como a Suécia e Holanda, além de Rússia e China. A posição foi obtido em grande parte graças à compra da canadense Inco pela Companhia Vale do Rio Doce. Segundo o relatório anual das Nações Unidas (ONU) sobre investimentos, o Brasil vive uma fase de internacionalização de suas empresas, ainda que nenhuma delas ainda faça parte das cem maiores multinacionais do mundo e apenas três estejam entre as cem maiores dos países emergentes. A internacionalização começa a dar resultados. No primeiro semestre de 2007, a tendência de alta nos investimentos internacionais não se repetiu, já que as filiais brasileiras no exterior enviaram de volta mais de US$ 3,5 bilhões em lucros. Uma das estratégias das empresas brasileiras é se aproximar dos mercados consumidores, como a fabricante de carrocerias de ônibus Marcopolo, que está na China, no México e em outros países. O real forte também favorece essa tendência de buscar o mercado internacional. A falta de crescimento doméstico mais forte também seria um motivo. Em 2006, os investimentos do Brasil no mundo somaram US$ 28 bilhões. A compra da Inco pela Vale inflacionou o cálculo em US$ 17 bilhões. Por isso, a companhia se tornou a maior produtora de minérios em termos de valor da produção. Mas, mesmo sem esse negócio da Vale, considerado o quinto maior do mundo no ano passado, o Brasil ainda seria o maior investidor latino-americano. Os mexicanos investiram US$ 5,8 bilhões, ante US$ 2 bilhões do Chile, da Venezuela e da Argentina. Em 2005, os investimentos brasileiros somaram US$ 3 bilhões. O maior investidor no mundo foram os Estados Unidos, com US$ 217 bilhões, seguido pela França, com US$ 115 bilhões, e a Espanha, com US$ 90 bilhões. Juntos, os países ricos investiram quase US$ 1 trilhão, 45% mais que em 2005. Hoje, são responsáveis por 84% dos investimentos do mundo. Segundo a ONU, o Brasil não deve repetir esse desempenho em 2007. Mas isso não significa que a internacionalização esteja perdendo força. Se a compra da Inco foi a maior aquisição já feita por uma empresa latino-americana, o levantamento destaca a atividade cada vez mais agressiva no exterior de empresas como a Camargo Correa, Marcopolo, Votorantim, Odebrecht, Weg, Gerdau, e Itaú. ” As companhias brasileiras começam a investir no exterior, depois de anos de recordes de exportação “, diz o documento. De fato, nunca os investimentos de empresas de países emergentes no exterior foram tão grandes como em 2006. O volume chegou a US$ 193 bilhões. Desse total, US$ 68 bilhões foram gastos por essas empresas na compra de companhias dos países ricos, um aumento de 57% em relação a 2005. Segundo o documento da ONU, a estratégia brasileira de comprar empresas no exterior ainda é uma forma de o setor privado se consolidar e evitar ser comprado. No mercado brasileiro, empresas nacionais ainda participaram de mais da metade das fusões no ano passado. Chinesas dominam “Os investimentos brasileiros tinham como principal destino as offshores. Mas nos últimos anos, os investimentos foram para outros países desenvolvidos”, afirma a ONU. Em 2001, o volume para esses mercados era de apenas 13%. Em 2005, pulou para 35%, quatro vezes mais que a média dos demais países emergentes. Um dos principais destaques no processo de internacionalização é a Petrobrás, 17ª maior produtora de petróleo em 2005 em termos de quantidade de barris. Entre as maiores multinacionais dos países emergentes, a Petrobrás ainda está na 13ª posição. A Vale do Rio Doce ocupa a 18ª posição, com com 4,4% da produção mundial de minério, ante 4,8% da australiana BHP e 4,6% da anglo-australiana Rio Tinto. A classificação da Vale poderá ser diferente com a compra da Inco. Outra empresa brasileira entre as cem maiores dos países emergentes é a Gerdau, na 33ª colocação. A lista, porém, é dominada por empresas chinesas e asiáticas. A liderança é da Hutchison Whempoa, de Hong Kong (20ª maior multinacional do mundo), seguida pela Petronas, da Malásia, Cemex (México), Singtel (Cingapura), Samsung e LG (coreanas). Na lista que inclui as maiores multinacionais do mundo, a classificação é liderada pela General Electric, Vodafone, General Motors e BP, Shell, Exxon Mobil, Toyota e Ford. Entre as cem maiores sete são dos países emergentes. Mas nenhuma do Brasil.
