Vale vai investir US$ 30 bi no Norte e Nordeste

Planejamento estratégico da companhia não faz menção à instalação de uma usina siderúrgica no Ceará Maior mineradora do País e segunda no mundo, a Companhia Vale do Rio Doce (CVRD) vai investir, nos próximos quatro anos, cerca de US$ 30 bilhões no Norte e Nordeste do País, onde possui um sistema de exploração e escoamento de minério de ferro que vai do Pará ao Maranhão. Os dados constam no planejamento estratégico da empresa. O documento, contudo, não faz qualquer menção ao projeto da usina siderúrgica Ceara Steel, no qual a Vale é sócia da italiana Danieli e da sulcoreana Dongkuk, com 9% de participação no empreendimento, que tem orçamento global em US$ 750 milhões. O planejamento estratégico da companhia prevê a alocação de US$ 59 bilhões de 2008 a 2012, em toda a área de atuação da empresa, que inclui Brasil, Peru, Chile, Canadá, Austrália, Indonésia, Nova Caledônia, Moçambique e Omã. Os recursos serão aplicados na expansão de suas atividades por meio do reforço na infra-estrutura de logística e transportes e geração de energia. Ceará Steel Segundo o diretor de logística da empresa, Zenaldo Oliveira, o objetivo dos investimentos no Norte e Nordeste é de aumentar a capacidade de produção de Carajás (PA) e do transporte por via ferroviária, que terá 546 quilômetros duplicados. ´Sei que a Vale está no projeto da Ceara Steel, mas não tenho informações detalhadas sobre ele´, disse o diretor, acrescentando que as ações da Vale continuam em processo de valorização e que não há risco de uma reestatização, proposta pelos movimentos sociais. Atuando nas áreas de mineração, logística e energia, a Vale do Rio Doce emprega mais de 139 mil pessoas, de forma direta e indireta, tanto no Brasil quanto no exterior. Capacitação profissional Este ano, a empresa ampliou a quantidade de vagas para o curso de Especialização Profissional em Engenharia Ferroviária. Ao todo, 35 engenheiros das regiões Norte e Nordeste poderão participar do projeto de capacitação para o mercado de trabalho. ´Trata-se de uma iniciativa da empresa que tem por objetivo garantir qualificação profissional para jovens recém-formados do Norte e Nordeste´, explicou Zenaldo Oliveira. Ele acrescentou que as duas regiões ainda registram dificuldades para ofertar mão-de-obra qualificada, situação agravada pela carência de oportunidades de inserção do público sem experiência anterior no mercado de trabalho. O programa, que prevê uma bolsa de R$ 3 mil mensais por aluno, contempla profissionais das áreas de eletrotécnica, eletrônica, eletroeletrônica, metalurgia, materiais, produção, química e telecomunicações, oriundos de universidades públicas das regiões.
